Good evening from the countryside near Elizabeth, CO
"All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware." Martin Buber
I arrived safely at Jay and Kristi's beautiful home located in the countryside near Elizabeth.
What a spectacular property, with incredible vistas in every direction!
It was a challenging ride (91 miles with serious wind), however days like this just seem to make you stronger. Look for details with tomorrow's posting.
Jay, an accomplished Amateur Radio Operator (Ham), gave me a tour of his station (shack in Ham lingo) and it's simply incredible. It rekindled my love of the hobby so, Cathy, we might need to purchase some new radio equipment. Ha-ha.
Talk to you tomorrow from Colorado Springs.

Hi hon and greetings from Hong Kong on Sunday night here. Tonight is the final night for the group. We will have a cocktail cruise on a Junk boat and then off to dinner at a nice restaurant. It has been a busy trip, but fun. I am looking forward to getting home tomorrow night and having some American food.
Sounds like your adventures continue on a positive note. Please tell Jay and the family I say hi. It will be nice to finally be able to talk to you on a regular basis. Know you are in my every thought and prayer. Enjoy and safe travels to Cammie and Mikes.
Love you whole lot,
Cathy
Hi Dennis,
That's an amazing story about The Motorcycle Crasher! Sometimes a good ol' fashioned dose of stubborn resolve will get you somewhere, I suppose.
I wanted to let you know I had lunch at the Deportivo in Yuma (your dinner stop), a little while after I left you! What a fine Mexican meal I had. Not much to look at from the outside, but mmmm, mmmm good on the inside!
Thomson and I are heading to the big passes of Summit County today for some bicycle climbing. Happy riding to you,
Jay
Hi Dennis...I sure do recognize the picture of Jay's radio room. He has taken my lifelong interest in hamming to the ultimate! Wow..what an antenna farm. We are enjoying your stories and pictures every day. Still in Ruidoso, where this weekend there 10,00 to 15,000 motorcycles here for an outing...sounded like one giant buzzing bee all day and half the night. I remember you did a lot of that riding yourself. Be safe and take care of yourself. I am sure the red and green chiles in the Southwest will add a few extra pedal pumps!
Ron & Donnette
Dennis,
You don't know me but I read your Vistas and Vibes daily. If you remember back to your stop at the Spirit Lake YMCA, you met a gentleman named Tom. Tom is a lively part of a group of a dozen or so "older folks" who go for a 10-20 mile bike ride every Wed. morning which is organized by the YMCA. Tom shared your story and blog address with us on our next ride after he met you. We are "going with you" through your blog, and want you to know we are enjoying your writings. You write so well and descriptively, it's almost like being there.
We admire your determination to fulfill your dream and pray for all good things along your way.
May the wind be always at your back,
Sue from Okoboji, Iowa
