Good morning from Colorado Springs, CO

Today is the first of two R&R days.
I'm staying at the Five Star, Sells Ranch that features spectacular mountain views and great home cooking. Thanks to Mike, Cammie, and their son, Scott for hosting me.

Dennis,

Glad you made it to Colorado Springs and am sure you will enjoy your friends and 2 days off. It does not seem you've been on your trip for 2 weeks.

Get re-energized for the mountains ahead!

Hi Dennis

Can't believe you're already in CO Springs! We are so happy that you have met so many wonderful folks along the way. Enjoy your well deserved break.

Mike and Melissa

P.S. Went kayaking yesterday on Lake Minnetonka. Beautiful breezes and blue skies. Wishing you the same!

Hey Mike & Melissa,

Can you believe it's two weeks already? Time is zooming by just like the wind. Ha-ha.

Looking forward to seeing Cleone in Pueblo.

Enjoy your day.

Denato,

Our Cincinnati Bengals suffered a devasting defeat yesterday at the hands of the Cleveland Browns. A 51-45 whipping out in the woodshed. Ouch, that loss hurt. But we will regroup and move on.

John Denver was right on when he
sang "Rocky Mountain High..."

I still remember the day we skied at Keystone,CO. The vista at the mountain top was spectacular, much like what you will soon be seeing as you make your way thru the mountains. And remember tackling that expert trail 'Go Devil'?

Keep on biking brother....
Dan

Sounds like you will enjoy your rest (a grossly understatemed comment I am sure)

A long trip on a bike can be addicted so here is one warning sign: A Power Bar starts tasting better than a Snickers.

Hi Dennis,

I am so glad to hear that you made it to Colorado Springs safely. Sounds like it wasn't without some trials and tribulations, but I know that will only make you stronger. We had a great weekend in Omaha - I thought it was a long car ride, can't imagine getting there on a bicycle.

Keep strong and keep enjoying.

Hi Dennis,

I am Joe, Phyllis Costello's brother. Tom emailed me about your great adventure. What a dream come true! I am a bicycle rider myself and just starting to get into the longer rides, like 50+ miles, so I am particularly interested in your trip. I have been thinking of you everytime I go out on a short road trip. We are rooting you on back here in Southern Indiana.

I also found it of great interest that from your picture it looked like you were on a hybrid? I have a Trek hybrid and was thinking about getting a regular road bike but now I see that, "It's not the bike", but the person on it that makes the difference. Good luck.

I look forward to seeing your pictures as they become available.

Hey Dennis. Mom and Bill have been so excited to hear of your progress. Ron, their neighbor is pulling info off for them to be able to follow. What a deal - beside being a good cyclist, you are a great rider - should 'submit' for publication! Have a great time following that dream!
